TROOP… SALUTE THE FLAG!

Scouts are the eldest members at West Thorpe. From the age of ten they would enjoy a vast range of activities which will prepare them for Explorers and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at the age of 14. They will do a variety of activities while in Scouts including map and compass skills, first aid, wide games, cooking, survival skills, gliding, hiking and much much more.

In an environment supervised by experienced leaders they develop leadership skills and build on their confidence. Scouting provides young people with great experiences which they can use as evidence for University personal statements, on CV’s and for use into their adult life.

At West Thorpe Scouts, we are all working very hard to earn all of our badges and ultimately – our Chief Scout’s Gold Award! To find out a little bit more about the kinds of badges that we work towards in Scouts, click one of the following links:

At West Thorpe Scouts, we aim to earn a minimum of 4 Activity Badges & 1 Challenge Award per term.
